Hey!
I spent a LOT of time “warming up” to freelancing. And you know what? I don’t think that’s a bad thing.
Most of us need some prep work before we get our official starts…bonus: that prep work can pay off with a sustainable business that fits your lifestyle goals.
So what can you do today to start your warmup? Here’s a few tips
- Join communities. You’re already in this one, but consider adding on a skill-specific group and maybe one for solo entrepreneurship too.
- Study business: You don’t need a whole MBA like me. Just a basic intro course will help you understand what’s going on. (Think something simple and free on Coursera or Udemy)
- Think out your life: how many hours do you want to work? How many days a week? How much vacation do you want to take? Let that guide how you think of your freelance future.
- Follow freelancers: TONS of freelancers talk about tips and tricks and life experiences. Follow a few on TikTok, IG, even their
newsletters.
- Study websites: Start looking at freelancer websites to get a feel for what you want your future home base to look like
And don’t make it too hard. You should be absorbing things as organically as possible.
Talk to you soon!
