I think I had an easier time than most when I started freelancing…and you know what? It was still hard.

 

A lot of marketing, a lot of uncertainty, a lot of worry.

 

But now? 7 years in? It’s easier than I ever would’ve thought…the exact opposite of employment, which seemed to get harder and ask for more the higher I went. But why?

 

There’s a lot of different reasons, but mostly is because you’re starting everything from scratch. Most of the world is set up to funnel you into employment, so when you start freelancing? You’re having to rethink everything about the way you work, how you want to live, and how you want to feel while working.

 

But that’s the beauty of it. Rethink those things and put some practical steps behind them…and one day you’ll wake up in a life few people really know is possible.

 

I know…not just because I’ve done it, but because I’ve been around people who’ve been doing it even longer.
