I wish I would’ve caught this one earlier in my career. If I had, I probably would’ve stepped out earlier.
It was being a “self-starter.”
I’d been tossing those words on resumes and job platforms for years…with no idea that it meant I’d likely do well on my own.
But here’s the thing. Self-starting is nothing new…what is new, is the number of tools and communities out here to support freelancers at all phases of our career.
So if you’re a self starter, take your indie career seriously. You’re made for it and there’s never been a better time to use that trait for your own benefit.
