That’s because the way things are set up…if you aren’t intentional? You can easily end up in a worse spot than you would’ve been while employed. Let’s be real…we all probably know freelancers who are stressed, depressed, and barely getting their bills paid.
Knowing your lifestyle boundaries is the key to earning more. Here’s an example.
When I started, my first goal was billing at least $5K a month. I could’ve done that one of two ways...working more at the rates I started with, or charging more for my current level of work.
If I’d worked more, I would’ve had less incentive to dig and find the people who were willing to pay me more for less effort...I would’ve just kept grinding away...and I would’ve gotten constant feedback that I was on the right path.
But that’s not what I did.
I decided I wanted to work no more than 20hrs a week first and THEN started looking for ways to make that happen.
By making my work hours a hard boundary, I was forced to be creative to find the work that would support my life.
If you want to start thinking out your lifestyle boundaries, start here.
