Digital sharecropping is still a bad idea
Some of the indie-work guides I respect the most have been saying this for years.
Digital sharecropping (relying on a platform and not having your own website or space online) is a recipe for disaster.
We’ve seen platforms like Vine vanish from existence and IG and Facebook change their algorithms so drastically that people’s incomes were decimated.
The same’s been happening on Twitter.
As much as I used Twitter and already miss some of what it was (some, not all), it was never going to last forever without changing.
