Hope your March is off to a good start!
Last month, we covered responses to chaotic times from a mindset perspective. This month, we’re looking at specific skills.
These are the skills you’ll be using to find stability and even advantage during times of
change and uncertainty. They’ll overlap a bit with last month, since they’re extensions of the perspective you need to not just survive but thrive during times like these (which I genuinely believe is possible.)
The beauty of these is that they also apply to employment (as the world gets less stable, employment and freelancing tend to start to merge and look more similar).
Here’s what we’ll be covering:
- Focus
- Applying Systems
- Listening
- Collaboration
Apply your systems
“You don't rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your systems.”
Atomic Habits got this one right. Our systems are what catch us when we’re tired, confused, demotivated, and distracted.
Personally, I’m weathering the beginning of this presidency better than the last term, but I still haven’t been myself. What’s kept me on track though, is my list of daily marketing tasks and my CRM.
That’s why I’ve started encouraging everyone in the BlackFreelance Mastermind to grab at least the free version of HubSpot and get on
LinkedIn (as a freelancer.) These make building systems much easier and give you somewhere to direct, track, and measure your habits.
(If you’re looking for other habits you can start today, these three are a good place to start.)
