Hope your March is off to a good start!
Last month, we covered responses to chaotic times from a mindset perspective. This month, we’re looking at specific skills.
These are the skills you’ll be using to find stability and even advantage during times of
change and uncertainty. They’ll overlap a bit with last month, since they’re extensions of the perspective you need to not just survive but thrive during times like these (which I genuinely believe is possible.)
The beauty of these is that they also apply to employment (as the world gets less stable, employment and freelancing tend to start to merge and look more similar).
Here’s what we’ll be covering:
- Focus
- Applying Systems
- Listening
- Collaboration
Lean into human connection
A few weeks ago I was talking to a friend about all the rise in fake job postings.
I told her the only ones I trust these days are associated with news I get from people within companies—confirmation that a company is actually hiring (or even exists in the first place.)
The same goes for industry news and market trends. There’s so much performance, AI drivel, and misinformation—so many people who want to look successful, brilliant, or in the know—that it’s hard to know what’s real and what isn’t.
You have to talk to
people…multiple people to get a feel for what’s actually going on. That’s where I think the power of freelance community lies...and why I want to invite you to our new Discord server to share your experiences, ask questions, and connect with people who have goals similar to yours. Hope to see you
there!
