As a business trend, DEI is winding down…or at least transforming. This leaves us as freelancers asking a lot of questions about how it will impact us. 

(The short answer is that it depends, but in my opinion, it’s likely less of a concern than you might think.)

Stay focused on value…

The cheat code in freelancing (or any business really) is staying focused on value. This still applies in a post-DEI world. 

If you’re tracking what companies need, what they care about, and are looking for ways to align your skills and what you offer with those things—whether or not they’ve got some public performance of commitment to fairness won’t make much of a difference to you.
