The Social Freelancer’s Best Friend

Published: Sun, 02/14/16

Hi

If you had a chance to look at last week’s post on why using social media is so important to freelancers, you may have noticed a link to another post at the end. If you didn’t get a chance to check it out, I’ll break it down for you in one sentence (that is also this week’s tip)…

Don’t skip LinkedIn…no matter how much it might have gotten on your nerves in the past.

When I was traditionally employed, I kept a LinkedIn profile, but only because I was supposed to. It did absolutely nothing for me.

Now though, I find myself using my profile to regularly talk to directors, executives, and entrepreneurs who need help getting their websites off the ground. I firmly believe that that’s because my profile is unapologetically dedicated to freelancing and is a place where I regularly showcase my developing portfolio.

If you want to get your profile working in much the same way for you, cut LinkedIn a little bit of slack, and check out this post to get started. Talk to you soon!

Megan.
