We’re moving on from social media month and into the period where we take time to really look at what freelancing can do and is doing in our lives.
Before we get started though, just a quick reminder that if you ever want to focus on improving your social media presence as a freelancer, you can review
all of our posts on social here.
OK…so my freelance career started with some negative emotions.
Even when I had a good job, I knew it wasn’t for me. When my work life got really bad though, that’s when I realized I had to go out on my own. I realized it was either that, or continue to ride the emotional rollercoaster that being employed had put me through for
over 10 years (and to keep watching my physical and social well-being deteriorate as a result.)
I’m glad I learned that early though, because even now as a freelancer, I’m in the habit of checking in on my emotions to see how different decisions I’ve made in building my freelance career are playing out. This is why this week’s freelance tip is…
Don’t forget your feelings.
Freelancing is about
business, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t human questions involved. Whether you’re currently freelancing or just considering it, take some time this week to acknowledge your feelings. If you want to get started, try answering this question…What three words would you use to describe your emotional state right now?
Megan.
