I want to share something with you that changed the way I approached my freelance work.
When I first started, I would check job boards maybe twice a week. I would see good jobs snapped up and feel like my chances were slipping by. That’s when I decided to stop sitting back and waiting for someone to build my freelance career for me — after all, freelancing isn’t just graphic design, or
writing, or academic research. It’s also marketing and paying attention to what people are willing to pay freelancers to do.
I decided to…
- Check job boards daily (for higher-paying jobs in my niche
only)
- Update my profile regularly with language I saw on job postings I liked
- Look into quick, cheap courses and newsletters for my skillset and niche
None of that takes a lot of
time, but all of them can completely revolutionize your freelance career. Try them out and as always, shoot me any questions you have. Talk to you soon!
Megan.
