I hear a lot of questions from people who want to start freelancing, and some of the most common boil down to not really knowing which one freelance skill to focus on.
Notice I said “one”. That’s because, if you want to shape a freelance career that grows and adapts with a fast-changing economy, you’ll need to focus. That means developing one skill and, if we’re being real, on doing that skill for
just one niche.
I know that can be hard, but remember, you can learn and develop a lot of freelance skills relatively quickly and often without a degree (
here’s a place to get
started)…that is if you dedicate yourself to one. You’re sabotaging yourself if you’re trying to keep multiple freelance skills up to your niche standards when everybody else is putting all their effort into one.
So what will you dedicate yourself to in 2017? Will you spend another year choosing between 3, 4, or 5 different interests, or focus?

P.S. If you've already got a focus, let me know what you'd like to see happen with your freelance career in 2017.
Also, I'll be
taking next week off (and giving your inbox a break) to observe Christmas, so if you do too, Merry Christmas!!
