If you’ve been on the blog, you know I’ve
given up goals for 2017. If you’re having trouble getting started on your freelance career (or even getting it moving), I’m going to suggest you come right along with me. Why?
Because goals, as great as they can seem (especially with everybody
bragging about them right now), can be a problem. Goals can make starting hard, because not reaching one feels like failure. They make starting seem a lot bigger than it has to be.
You know that Chinese proverb that says a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step? Those steps are a habit. A habit isn’t over just because you miss a beat. If you slow down, or stop walking, that’s all it means. You’ve lost nothing. You just have to take one more step and you’re
right back on track.
Choose a habit that aligns with the life you want to live…whether it’s emailing a new prospect every week, or dropping a TV show you only kind of like to spend 30 minutes a week
working on your web presence…just pick one and see all the great things that
happen.
And if you’re having a hard time figuring it out? Shoot me an email. Happy 2017!
Megan.
