One of the things that scared me when I started freelancing is that I heard a LOT of people talking about how they were working 8-12 hour days, and harder than they did when they were employed.

I’d see that and think, “What’s the point? Why do this if you end up just trading off one type of insecurity for another?”

That’s when I decided I had to be deliberate about designing my freelance life. I couldn’t just let fear and watching other freelancers decide what my future would look like.

This post outlines one way I did that. The most important part though, was making the decision and setting it as a deliberate priority.
