We play tricks on ourselves as freelancers. One of the biggest I fell for early on, was the idea that everybody out there was lightyears better than I was.

I didn’t really have any proof, but I figured that if someone was getting paid more than me, they must be more skilled.

Nope.

Some of the biggest earners in any freelance game have a little secret. All they did was  take the time to listen to all the loud voices. The ones saying they want to work with freelancers. Then they made small, but regular refinements to skills they already had based on what they learned.

That’s where you find freelance momentum. Not grinding and “outworking” any and everybody else.
