A weird thing happens when people talk about “the gig
economy”…they tend to make it sound like a great new world of opportunity where the classes that exist in employed life just melt away and you can earn as much as you want at your own convenience.
Late, I’ve been noticing more sites pop up that filter for only the most experienced freelancers. That means those of us who started early will be rewarded because we took the time to figure out our skills, develop reputations, and make connections. And people who waited? They’re
going to be playing catchup (if they can catch up at all.)
You still have time though.
The fact that you’re taking the initiative to be here, warming up your freelance skills means you’re already ahead of the pack.
There’s more to it than that of course, so if you haven’t downloaded and seriously started filling out your Freelance Workbook,
do that right now. It’s simple, straightforward, and a great first step in preparing yourself for the new world of work. After all, you don’t want to be left behind once things really start to shake out.
