Employment is a strange relationship.
We take a somewhat predictable income in exchange for control over our work hours. (This is true for both hourly and salaried employees.) There’s something else going on too though, and that’s the fact that your employer is always out there finding you work.
They have sales teams and marketing departments, and even if they don’t, somebody’s out there doing the work to make sure you have something to do when you show up or sign in
every day.
When you decide to freelance though, all that goes out the window.
Now you have to find that work yourself and no amount of skill or word of mouth changes that fact.
That might sound a little intimidating at first, but we’re in an amazing age for freelancers where finding work is easier than it’s ever been in the history of freelancing.
Still, you have to get out there and be your own best marketing advocate. The sooner you do, the better.
That’s why the Marketing Hub exists.
Even if you don’t’ have a skillset or a niche, you can dive in today. Trust, your future freelance self will thank you for it.
