You’ve probably heard me say it before, but you’re probably overthinking your niche.
You might think your years temping or in customer service mean you don’t have a specialty. I want you to know, you probably do.
Every company you’ve ever worked for specialized in
something, and even if you weren’t trying to, you picked up intimate knowledge about how that corner of business works.
You might have been doing customer service for a credit card company (personal finance), temping at a vets office
(pet/veterinary), or calling on people’s past due car notes (collections).
All those notes in parenthesis are niches. Each one has a world of software, marketing, design, and website development that’s probably particular just to that space.
So look back and think…what kind of specialties do you have hiding in your history?
