If you follow me on Twitter, you’ve probably seen a couple of the marketing polls I send out. I just did one recently on prioritizing marketing. Here’s the results.
Do you have time set aside to market your freelance business on your calendar?
Yes. It’s important to me 31%
No. I do it when I can 31%
I don’t market much 38%
Look at that. That’s almost 70% of people who aren’t
prioritizing their marketing!
To be fair though, I think the numbers are much lower for people like you who take the initiative to sign up for an email like this.
Still, the truth is, most of us aren’t marketing enough.
I know I wasn’t when I started and you know what? I was wasting my time.
…Wasting time I could’ve been developing a habit that would’ve gotten my business moving faster.
…Wasting time I could’ve been building prospect lists.
…Wasting time I could’ve been learning about my niche through trial and error.
If you’re waiting for “the right time” to start marketing, stop. That time has already passed.
Just this week, we just had a new member in the Academy pick a niche and immediately start researching prospect lists. She found a ton in her industry and is extra excited to start
figuring out where here skills fit.
