We’re just coming off Thanksgiving here in the U.S., but most freelancers I know? They’ve already got thoughts and plans lined up for 2019. That includes me too.
It feels very different than when I was employed. This time of year back in my old employed life? I’d be panicked, trying to survive the end of the year and probably wouldn’t start thinking concretely about 2019 until mid December.
That’s mostly because when I was an employee, I saw the small picture. That was my job.
Now that I’m a freelancer, I’m responsible for both the small picture AND the big picture.
It took a while for me to really accept that, but once I did, I felt a huge jump in the confidence I felt in my business.
Managing the big picture is where you start to find similar feelings of safety and stability that so many of us think is exclusive to employment.
