We had a quick conversation about proposals in the Skype group this week, specifically what they should look like.
That’s always a hard question to answer, but for the most part, it’s simple — your job as a freelancer is to solve problems for your clients. That means providing value.
A proposal just outlines your ideas for how you think that problem should be solved.
That can seem like a lot, that is until you realize the pre-proposal conversations (what your clients want to accomplish, who they work with, and the environment they’re working in) all come back to understanding how they define value.
That’s one of the main reasons The introductory content here at BlackFreelance starts with discussions on value.
It’s also why the Academy and Skype group exist. It’s next to impossible to figure this stuff out on your own. We all need support, and that’s what the BlackFreelance community is here for. If you haven’t tried your free membership yet, now’s the time.
