When I first started freelancing, marketing was ridiculously manual.
Writing letters, sending emails, pulling prospect lists…even dedicating just one day a week, it seemed like it would never end. After a while though, I made templates, set up systems, and got my automation rolling.
For the past two weeks I've been in Japan on a little semi-break. While I was there, two new, large clients rolled in without me doing a thing. Almost 6 years in and my marketing machine is starting to run itself.
Marketing your work as a freelancer is hard at first, but if you get the basics down, don’t rely on word of mouth, and invest in automation like ads and content marketing, eventually, it gets a LOT easier.
The fastest way to get it all rolling? Focus on the people who you provide real value to and do everything you can to understand them and their needs. It’s way easier after that and business gets a lot more stable.
