Since I kicked off BlackFreelance back in 2014, I’ve wanted to build a way for you guys to talk to each other.
As much as I’m out here keeping up with what’s going on in the world of freelancing, I’m not enough — no one source is. You need to be able to share all the questions and wisdom you’re picking up on your freelance journey and learn from a range of perspectives. But to bring that to you, I needed the right solution.
…and I found it!
I want to invite you to visit BlackFreelance on MightyNetworks. It’s a great (ad-free) platform that opens up the ability to
- Connect with other freelancers (even based on skill set!)
- Ask questions of the whole community
- Post interesting articles and resources
- Get community updates via mobile
- Chat
I’m really excited for what this will mean for this growing community and hope to see you there soon.
So either come straight to the community via desktop or download the MightyNetworks app and search for "BlackFreelance". (If you want a quick preview of how it works, check this video out.)
A couple of things to keep in mind.
- Feedback is welcome! The community is live, but you’re one of the first people who gets to try it out, so if anything is weird, difficult, or not working, just let me know here, or in the app. (Seriously…if you hate something, love something, or have an idea, you’re doing me a HUGE favor by letting me know…don’t have me out here guessing what you need!)
- We're testing out privacy. We have the ability to see freelancers near us, but right now, for privacy reasons, I have the function turned off. If it’s something enough people are interested in, I’ll consider opening it up.
- Now's the time to engage! Follow a few topics, invite friends, and enable notifications so you can keep your mind in the freelance game! (You can always turn things down later.)
Oh…also, nothing else is changing in BF Universe. BlackFreelance.com and these emails will continue on just like they have since the beginning. Talk to you soon!
Megan
P.S. This community is growing and we’re all helping to advance the work of Black freelancers around the world, so thank you for being an important part of BlackFreelance!
