Hey!
If things were like they were even just 15 years ago, I probably wouldn’t have started BlackFreelance. But life is different now.
We live in a special time. A time of new opportunities that just didn’t exist before for Black people who want to be employer-independent. Voice work is one of those opportunities.
Projects like BlackListed, which offers audio summaries of progressive and socially conscious books and The Shine App which has meditations in the voice of Black women and women of
color are great examples of where we’re seeing growth and evolution in voice over work.
That’s what I love most about freelancing. It’s a growing space with amazing new doors opening up every day. Whether you’re brand new or years into the game, I hope you’re exploring what freelancing can look like in your life.
By the way…if you want to get started in voice over work, start here.
