I don’t think it gets said enough, but client management is intimidating.
The contracts, the communication, the payments!
There’s a reason Upwork can charge freelancers 20% of their income and just keep pushing….client management can be so overwhelming for some people that they’ll essentially outsource to anybody who’s willing to take it.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
I’m a big believer that most people can learn how to manage clients, and do it well…if they’re just open to learn, make a few small mistakes, give clients (overall) the benefit of the doubt, and most importantly…accept that they already know how to do a lot of this work from employment.
That’s why this week, if you’re one of those people who feels like the fear of managing clients is holding you back, I want you to spend the next 7 days telling yourself that you can learn to manage client relationships, and that you’ve already got the basic skills.
Make sure to come back every week this month as we walk through what client management is, and why you really can get better at it.
