So since it’s website month, let’s talk about one of the most common questions I see from new freelancers.
It’s not just whether you should have a website (you should, even if you can only start with a LinkedIn page — in 2020 you should be aiming for a site.) It’s what that site should cover.
Most new freelancers I see have sites that are a mix of personal projects, descriptions of their skills, with maybe a nod to the fact that they do freelance work.
That’s backwards.
Your freelance site should center your prospects. That means it should address what you do for them. Lists like this are good for examples, but you don’t even have to look that far.
Sites like Upwork are great examples and push you to create a profile that practices principles of centering your prospects.
