Hey!
More people have been approaching the BlackFreelance community looking for freelancers lately.
Over the past week I’ve heard from Forbes and Skyword. I’ve also talked to a couple of clients discussing what they like to see from freelancers…even people new to the work they need help with.
“At least a LinkedIn”…portfolios…these are the concepts that are coming up.
Which…I know how frustrating that is, especially if you’re new and don’t think you have experience. But plenty of people in these situations aren’t necessarily looking for pinpoint specific experience from indie workers. They’re looking for intent.
Intent that you’re serious about your solo work. Intent that you’re focused on what you do. Intent that this is more than just a hobby for you.
That’s why your web presence, even just a LinkedIn dedicated to freelancing is so powerful. It helps you step into opportunities…opportunities that, even if they
don’t pan out, feed you valuable information about your future freelance strategy. So don’t wait. Every missed attempt is a lesson lost.
If you want to talk about how to turn your life experience into even a simple freelance web presence, come by the community boards.
