It used to seem so far off.
When I started freelancing, I knew that it would take years to get to where I was comfortable. Years of working my strategy until I replaced my income and felt I could relax.
I wish I could tell you that I was wrong and saw success immediately...but I didn’t. It did take years. I’m living in my “dream” goal now, but I’m also almost 7 years into this.
You know what though? The time would’ve passed either way.
Whether I’d worked my plan, focused and refined my niche, kept up marketing...or just quit because it was going to take too long...time wasn’t going to stop.
That’s the thing about time. It’s inevitable.
While time can feel like an adversary, it can also be something we can leverage. If we’re consistent, deliberate, and refining to align our habits with our goals...the time that’s “ticking away” can turn into the time that’s counting up to the life we want.
So what’s going on with your time right now?
P.S. It’s our job as Black freelancers to spread the word on the potential out there, so if this was helpful, pass it on!
