Hey!
I’ve said it before, but I probably wouldn’t have started BlackFreelance 10 or 15 years ago.
Part of that is because I had more hope for the state of employment, but that’s not the only reason.
We’re also living in a period where the most intimidating parts of freelancing—insurance, project management, marketing, client management—there are more options than ever to support us.
From online communities that centralize prospects (like LinkedIn), to software that takes care of all your admin (like the Hectic app), the availability of new insurance options (The ACA in the U.S.), to the growth in virtual assistants around the world…we live in a new era of freelancing.
So if you’ve gotten your ideas about freelancing from people who started years ago or who just haven’t kept up with the times, we don’t live there anymore.
We’re stepping into a new world of freelancing and it’s one that’s only getting bigger.
