Hey!
Finding hope has become a skill.
I really think that as the world becomes more complex, people are going to have practice and hone our abilities to find sustainable hope. That’s why I wanted to share the little areas I’m finding hope, even as things aren’t looking so good…pretty much everywhere else.
- Identifying and holding tight to what I can control: This very much means my freelance business. I’ve been locked down pretty tight since early 2020 and have focused on refining and tweaking my work (coaching, systems improvement, etc.) I have new hope in my business that I didn’t have, even before the pandemic, especially since it pushes me to dig deep to find fresh opportunities in a
changing world.
- Producing things that require nurturing: I’m back into my practice of going into the garden every morning to take care of my vegetables…it really does make a difference since now I can envision myself as a really good gardener (one day…lol)
- Being kind to myself: Call it “self care”, “lifestyle design” or whatever you like, but being softer to myself has been critical during these times. This has given me hope for the future.
I won’t pretend there’s not a lot to have lost hope in…plenty of things just aren’t coming back. Bbut I do think there are small places we can find bright spots, especially if we talk it out…so if you’d like to, come by the Mighty Networks group if you have anything you want
input on.
