Every month we run
through a series of questions to help you run your freelance business like a bigger business — “self-coaching” your way to better results and a better life.
Hey! Happy CEO month!
This month’s all about simplification—something every freelancer should prioritize
That’s because your freelance business shouldn’t be hectic, overwhelming, or taking up too much space in your life. So, this week, we’re taking a quick look at bookeeping.
Automate bookkeeping
People can spend hours a month on bookkeeping, even in simple freelance businesses.
It’s even worse if you don’t like doing it. That’s why it’s one of the first things you should consider automating.
I use Xero (recommended by my accountant), but Quicken and QuickBooks do a lot of the same work. It can take a few months to get the rules going, but once you do, it’s beautiful. (I barely think of my bookkeeping these days)
If you need some feedback on a bookkeeping solution you’re considering, come by the Academy boards and let’s talk it out!
