Every month we run through a series of questions to help you run your freelance business like a bigger business — “self-coaching” your way to better results and a better life.
Hey! Happy COO month!
We’re rolling into February… this month we’re talking production.
And to make sure you’re shaping a freelance business that actually improves your life, we’re not trying to get more done. We’re going to talk about working better.
So this month we’re going to cover four tips to help you figure out when you do your best work—so you can start building out a great schedule that fits your life goals.
Keep a journal.
Some people can tell when their best work times are without much effort…but some of us are going to have to put in a little effort.
Once you have an eye for what feels right, start keeping a journal.
Even just a couple of weeks and you’ll likely start to see a pattern — maybe your days just breeze by when you get production out of the way first thing in the morning. Maybe you have great ideas right after you take an afternoon nap. Maybe you need to do tasks with lower emotional investment early on.
Whatever you learn, use it as a starting point. You’re indie after all…you can make your workday look however you want.
If you need inspiration from other community members, come by the Academy boards and let’s talk it out!
