Every month we run through a series of questions to help you run your freelance business like a bigger business—“self-coaching” your way to better results and a better life.
Hey!
Sales are what will make or break your freelance business, and if you’re like me, it doesn’t come naturally.
I’ve had to get better at sales over time, and honestly,
anybody can.
That’s why this month, we’re going to be covering the top 4 sales skill that you can keep sharp to keep your cash flows healthy.
#4 Make sales a habit
If you’ve ever talked to a really good professional sales person, you’ve noticed they’re almost always, if not always “on”—the whole “Always Be Selling” thing.
You don’t have time for that as a freelancer, but you
do need to “always been selling” when it’s time to be selling, and that takes good habits.
You might want to set aside monthly or even weekly time for sales activities (like prospecting, follow up, and research), but whatever you choose, get it on your calendar so it becomes a habit.
And once you get a feel for things, automate or outsource what you can (so it becomes a habit you don’t have to think about).
If you want to go over your sales habits, come by the Academy boards and let’s talk it out!
