Every month we run through a series of questions to help you run your freelance business like a bigger business—“self-coaching” your way to better results and a better life. You can view a condensed version of this month’s coaching prompts here.
A lot of our markets have been in crazy levels of flux in the last few years...which is exactly why it’s so important to ask good questions...especially as we go into 2023.
That’s why this month, we’re asking and answering 4 critical questions to help you turn 2022 marketing “failures” into wins and “raise the floor” of your performance.
Take some time with these, especially since it’s going to involve being honest and reframing some aspects of your business that might not have turned out the
way you wanted.
#2 Where are my sales processes weak?
Your freelance business lives and dies by your sales, so you can definitely see major wins by tweaking and refining your approach to getting prospects past “no.”
By this point in your business, you should have some sort of customer relationship management system or software, so it shouldn’t
be that hard to pick out a problem area or two for next year. Here’s some examples:
The platforms you’re investing the most sales time and effort into yielding the fewest new clients.
You don’t know where your biggest wins are coming from and can’t duplicate or test the results.
You can’t
see where your prospects are most often falling off in your sales funnel (so you don’t know where to adjust)
Next year is going to be an important one for refining your sales processes, so if you want to talk out finding weak points or how to respond to them, come by the Academy boards and let’s talk it
out.
