Every month we run through a series of questions to help you run your freelance business like a bigger business—“self-coaching” your way to better results and a better life.
Hey!
Since uncertainty is the norm these days, agility is a must as CEOs of our freelance businesses.
But how do we build that into our one-person shops without overloading ourselves?
That’s what we’re tackling in October, so we’re walking through 5 actions the CEO of freelance businesses should take to stay agile and respond to the changes coming our way.
#4 Measure your change
We covered this a bit in CMO
month...and it’s coming up again because measurement is just that important.
Agility means taking chances, moving things in your business around, refining and repeating. If you aren’t tracking that level of change, you’ll have no idea where you’re seeing success or how to map the best path forward.
This means you’ll need to measure things as they are before a change (setting your baselines) and check in periodically.
The metrics you’ll use could range from sales, to website traffic, to average number of hours spent in meetings per week...it’ll all depends on what you’re trying to
do.
If you want some help setting up metrics, stop by the Academy boards.
