Your sales experiences should change your content
I’ve changed my thoughts on blogging as a freelancer over the years. It’s because, during sales conversations with my clients, I’ve learned they really aren’t looking to learn much about my general musings on content marketing strategy.
They want to know that I understand their industry, how I work with clients, and that I wasn’t outsourcing my writing.
So I backed off on blogging, and now only use it to share truly innovative(and niche-specific) thoughts and results they hadn’t considered.
If you’ll sit back and think about the clients you’ve signed, I bet you’ve run across a ton of useful information in your conversations. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to reflect that learning in your content.
