Every month we run through a series of questions to help you run your freelance business like a bigger business—“self-coaching” your way to better results and a better life. You can view a condensed version of this month’s coaching prompts here.
"The riches are in the niches.”
That’s one of those freelance sayings that really holds true. I’ve personally used niching down to boost my earning and know a ton of other freelancers who’ve done the same. (I’m actually on another round of going even deeper right now.)
...but how do you know when it’s a good time to take your specialization to the next level?
This month’s self-coaching questions are going to help you answer just that.
# 1 Do I need to increase revenue?
Niching down is a great way to earn more. That’s because people pay more for specialized help.
Think of how your average car mechanic is about $24/hr, but you make that car a Porche, and you’re looking at 10x the price.
Of course, niching takes effort (research, rebranding, PR) so it’s not something you do on a whim...but...if you’re looking to make more without upping your production efforts, it’s something you should consider.
