As much as I believe in content marketing, it’s not a good fit for everybody at every stage in their freelance business.
Especially for early freelancers, you can burn a ton of time and energy “creating content” that just gets dumped into the void...and that’s because knowing what even has a shot at working for you takes time!
That’s why this month, we’re going to cover things you can do if you’re not at a point where content works in your favor (yet).
Research distribution
The majority of content marketers struggle with distribution...getting all that content you’re churning out in front of the eyes of people who matter.
What’s made things even more challenging lately is that a lot of the game has changed.
Email isn’t yielding the same results it did a few years ago, and social’s generally unstable with platforms like Twitter no longer having the hold on readers that it used to.
But there’s still a ton of options.
Social’s gotten hyper-specific and paid distribution can actually be a smart and useful tactic. But for now, you’re just going observe and make note of what works.
