Are you investing in your freelance business?
I have to admit, that as a writer, it’s easy not to. My expenses are low and aside from some software expenses and a new computer occasionally, investing in improvements isn’t something I give much formal thought to.
And I think I’ve seen the impact of that lately.
In my business, I should be investing in things that improve my situation regularly. Things like marketing and education.
I’ve been mostly good about it, but in the last two years, I’ve been investing less and I can see how I’ve stalled in a few areas.
This is your reminder not to make the same mistake I’ve fallen into recently. Set aside even just 1-2% of revenue for marketing and strategic business education, and you’ll be doing your future self a favor.
P.S. If you’ve got any questions on a financial topic, just reply to this email and I’ll see if I can’t help you out.
