Every month we run through a series of
questions to help you run your freelance business like a bigger business—“self-coaching” your way to better results and a better life.
Hey!
It’s COO month, and in the BF Mastermind, that means we’re covering operations.
This month we’re digging into something that
used to absolutely plague me…which is just basically keeping clients organized.
I used to stress and worry that I was missing something, neglecting somebody, or just overlooking opportunities that could help strengthen my business. So this month we’re going to cover five tactics I use for staying on top of my clients and giving myself some peace of mind.
- Categorize your
relationships
- Profile your clients
- Review regularly
- Have a check-up sequence
- Consider a newsletter
Keep in mind this isn’t anything you have to do…it’s just a starting point for creating your own system. So let’s get into it!
#4 Am I reviewing regularly?
Your client profile won’t do much good if it’s just sitting
somewhere gathering (virtual) dust.
I have a reminder to check in at the beginning and end of each week, so that I’m not risking any issues falling by the wayside just because I’m not thinking about them.
For you, you might just want to end your week, or check in mid-week. Depending on the nature of your work, monthly might even be a better option. Whatever
frequency you choose, get it on your calendar (and give yourself ample time) so you know it’s covered without extra mental labor.
If you need some help figuring out the best way to schedule your review, drop by the Facebook Mastermind and we’ll see what we can help you with.
