Every month we run through a series of
questions to help you run your freelance business like a bigger business—“self-coaching” your way to better results and a better life.
Hey!
It looks like we’ve got a really volatile year ahead of us…but I’m confident that new opportunities are going to come out of it for freelancers. Mostly because our agility allows us to respond
to change better than your average worker—but also because it’s going to be even harder to maintain and improve our quality of life in many ways over the coming years.
And while navigating all that requires specific tactics, it’s impossible to know exactly which to apply if we don’t have an extremely clear vision for ourselves and for our businesses. So this month, for our Income and Assessment, I’m posing four questions to answer in the face of big changes.
#2 How can you maximize income and savings?
Ok so look.
I’ve been hearing from multiple people from multiple sectors that the
entire world is headed for a few rough years. (Likely through about 2030) Everyone sees light at the end of the tunnel, but we gotta get through the tunnel first.
Financially, that means tightening belts, increasing income, and upping our savings.
Yes, you can spend less, and as much as I believe in not overconsuming, I also believe in maximizing income so it
feels more like a choice than an imposition.
This month, look not only at your own experiences, but where businesses and other freelancers are seeing success and growth and consider the possibilities for your work.
(Personally, I’ve been setting myself up to move more into consulting for this exact reason.)
