Every month we run through a series of questions to help you run your freelance business like a bigger business—“self-coaching” your way to better results and a better life.
Hey!
Things can go wrong in any freelance business, so
prevention is our best friend!
This COO month, we’re going over 5 areas you should be implementing prevention to get ahead of the common slips that happen in freelance businesses. We’re going to cover…
- Project delivery
- Client status
- Marketing
- Tech
- Finance
#1 Am I protecting against deadline issues?
When I was a few years into freelancing, I was hitting my earning goals and my schedule was great, but MAN I was stressed over meeting deadlines and staying on top of projects.
Eventually, I found Focuster, which is like a sophisticated to do list. The nice thing about it though, is I get visual alerts when
things start falling behind. But lots of time and list management tools do the same thing.
Anything that builds GANTT charts (I like ClickUp) usually has a function for warnings and alerts that wave a yellow flag before things get too bad. If you’ve got access, take advantage!
