Every month we run through a series of questions to help you run your freelance business like a bigger business—“self-coaching” your way to better results and a better life.
Hey!
Things can go wrong in any freelance business, so
prevention is our best friend!
This COO month, we’re going over 5 areas you should be implementing prevention to get ahead of the common slips that happen in freelance businesses. We’re going to cover…
- Project delivery
- Client status
- Marketing
- Tech
- Finance
#4 Am I checking in on my tech?
One of the hardest parts of being a freelancer is being our own tech support!
That’s why I believe in taking advantage of every failsafe that we have access to.
- Pay for the extra backup services for our websites.
- Get an external drive or back documents up to a cloud
drive.
- Take screenshots of testimonials or work published on websites in case a company closes or they remove your work.
- Always have a backup laptop, mouse, tower, webcam, and anything else that’s critical to your work. (I use credit card points and grab these whenever they’re on sale. They’ve saved me MANY times.)
There are lots of services out here to help us, but life is a lot simpler when we get in
front of disasters.
