Every month we run through a series of questions to help you run your freelance business like a bigger business—“self-coaching” your way to better results and a better life.
Hey!
Things can go wrong in any freelance business, so
prevention is our best friend!
This COO month, we’re going over 5 areas you should be implementing prevention to get ahead of the common slips that happen in freelance businesses. We’re going to cover…
- Project delivery
- Client status
- Marketing
- Tech
- Finance
#5 Are you checking in on financials?
So, this one is going to vary depending on your setup, but we should all be checking our financial situation regularly.
The basics are checking our business bank accounts and credit cards, but it can also extend to making sure certain critical bills are paid, or like in my case, making sure
my state employment tax gets credited through payroll.
These might be uncomfortable sometimes, but there’s nothing worse than a financial surprise…so it’s worth the time and discomfort.
