Every month we run through
a series of questions to help you run your freelance business like a bigger business—“self-coaching” your way to better results and a better life.
Hey!
You might be thinking “it’s October…why are you even talking about 2026”?
Well, now is the best time to take action on planning and developing longer-term relationships to set yourself up for a strong year. As the CEO of your business, one of the most effective initiatives you can start is business development.
That’s why this month, we’re going to check in on four actions you should be taking to
get your face out there and connect to the people and networks that are the heart of your freelance business.
#4 Am I leveraging professional development?
In my 11 years of full-time freelancing, I’ve tried a lot of different methods of meeting people, but education is probably the best.
Coaching groups and courses almost guarantee that you’ve got some shared goals, and that you have similar perspectives on how to develop your business.
So look into joining at least one education-focused group in 2026…and get those people in your CRM!
