There are SO many AI options out there for freelancers...every time I turn around there’s a new course to take, video to watch, or tool to try. 

I’ve put a lot of effort into making sense of it all, so to help you do the same and figure out a good place to get started for your business, this COO month, we’re going to cover some really high-level perspectives on AI and how freelancers should be applying it. 

So let’s get into it!

#1 How can AI make me more effective? 

The short answer is, it can’t. AI doesn’t improve effectiveness, it improves efficiency. 

AI writing tools won’t make you a better writer. 

Strategy tools won’t increase your freelance business. 

Video tools won’t make you better at social media. 

The same rules apply to AI as everything else—get your fundamentals in place first, then look for the right applications of AI. 

For example, I’m looking at ways to build a sales assistant, but the first step I had to take? Cleaning up my 40-page sales SOP…the one that took me two courses and a few months to build. 

If you feel lost in the world of AI, don’t worry. You’re your own North Star. Work on the fundamentals of your strategy and systems, then layer on AI from there.
