There are SO many AI options out there for freelancers...every time I turn around there’s a new course to take, video to watch, or tool to try. 

I’ve put a lot of effort into making sense of it all, so to help you do the same and figure out a good place to get started for your business, this COO month, we’re going to cover some really high-level perspectives on AI and how freelancers should be applying it. 

So let’s get into it!

What AI skills do I need most?

Prompt engineering is really important, but I’m finding what’s even more important than that…is treating AI use as a skill itself. 

This means building an understanding of how to apply it to businesses, asking and answering your own questions of ethics and use, and most importantly, developing your own criteria and method for growth and application. 

I’ve personally settled on a couple of tools in a couple of categories and am taking a monthly course for consultants applying AI. This has been ridiculously helpful in feeling more in control and less lost. 

So, if you still feel like you’re caught up in the AI chaos, try setting aside a day or two a month just for AI skill development and see if that doesn’t help.
