Hi!
So you know I recommend HubSpot for freelancers…it’s free, has a ton of functionality, and it’s commonly used by a lot of larger entities so it’s a skill in itself.
This month I want to share a couple of functions that aren’t anything new, but that have really useful in upgrading my pipeline game.
BF note: Any CRM is better than none, but despite having no
affiliations, I always recommend HubSpot since it has a free version, tons of integrations and courses, and that it’s a skill you can resell as a freelancer.
Deal
tracking
So I’ve been good about marking my contacts in terms of lifecycle stage, but I have NOT been using the Deal feature enough.
You’ll find it under the main CRM menu option and then “Deals”.
What I love about it is that it solved the problem I’ve been having of new deals popping up in different lifecycle stages—sometimes
I’d have an existing client pop up with a new opportunity. Another day I might get a prospect with deal potential and then another from a partner.
I was losing track of potential deals and spending unnecessary time trying to track everything.
Now all my deals are in one place whether it’s with an agency I’ve been working with for five years or a consulting firm
that just popped up last week.
Check it out and play around with it…it’s got long term value, especially in tracking deal size and gathering data on who drives you the most (and least) business.
