It’s that time of year where we’re putting on our CEO glasses and taking a high-level look at our businesses.
This really is one of the exercises that I’m ridiculously glad I started years ago. That’s because now, I can look back and see how things have changed over the years.
From income, to feelings about my work, and even my health, by doing this every 6 months, I’ve painted a picture of the overall image of my business and the part it plays in my life.
I just finished mine. I’m looking back at 2016 when I was hopeful that I'd hit my old employed income level. Just 3 years later, I well exceeded it, while working half as much, with better health, increased happiness, and I life I feel free to live.
If I hadn’t been keeping track, that perspective would’ve been lost somewhere in my memory, even if I did enjoy hitting a goal.
So if you haven’t downloaded your personal copy, here’s a Google doc. All it takes is 20-30 minutes and some honesty — make sure you’re not shorting your future self of a great opportunity to reflect and learn.
