This week, we’re going to talk about looking at your tools and making sure they’re pulling their weight.
There are a bunch of different ways you can look at it, but I like to keep a few, simple categories.
- Time saved
- Money earned
- Peace of mind improved
I look at each of my tools and ask if and how much they’re improving things in those three areas.
For example, MeisterTask saves me time organizing and flipping between projects. Focuster pushed my earning and was revolutionary for my peace of mind.
No tool should be exempt. Even if it’s popular, pretty, or fun, you should be able to sit back and say it’s providing a net benefit to your freelance business. If it isn’t, it might be time to cancel a subscription or two.
